Thenali (Tamil: தெனாலி) is a 2000 Tamil feature film directed by KS Ravikumar and written by Crazy Mohan. It has Kamal Haasan playing the title role, and also stars Jayaram, Devayani and Jyothika. It turned out to be a box-office winner. The film also included Meena, BH Abdul Hameed, and director KS Ravikumar in cameo appearances. The film’s music was scored by the Academy Award winning composer AR Rahman. The film was inspired by the Hollywood movie What About Bob?. In turn, the song “Swasame” later appeared in the end credits to the 2008 Hollywood film, The Accidental Husband.
