A Rangoli of a Jain sage is hoping to claim a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Let’s have a look. Artists in India’s western Maharashtra state have created a Rangoli of Jain god Lord Mahavira that measures 24 hundred square feet. They feel confident that their entry of this traditional Indian art form will win a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The Rangoli, prepared in the state’s Nagpur city, took about 60 hours to complete as a team of Rangoli artists worked on it. Adam Ali Mujawar, the head of the team of artists, said that before this he had made five records and this was his best to date. [Adam Ali Mujawar, Rangoli Artists Team Leader]: “The Rangoli of Lord Mahavira has been made up of about 1000 kilos of flower powder, 150 kilos of color and about 250 values of color. The face of Mahavira is about ten to twelve feet. The total figure is about 48 feet. All the flower and color shades have been put together to bring out the ideology and message of Lord Mahavira which he gave out about two thousand five hundred years ago. So with all these thoughts in mind, we have created this record here.” Mujawar further said that he has sent the Rangoli as an entry to the Guinness Book of World Records.
