Watch Marathi Musical Comedy Drama – Lage Raho Rajabhai. Starring: Kishori Ambiye, Sameer Chougle, Ananda Karekar, Jayawant Balekar. Director: Avinash Kharshikar Synopsis: Lage Raho Rajabhai is a tradition social awakening drama. It is the story of a king who bans the touching of women in his kingdom to control crime against women. This leads to men fearing to go near their own wives. To overcome this, the king’s ministers hatch several plots and succeed in getting the rule revoked. This traditional story is given a modern twist in this stage play. Bharat Kapoor is the king of Bharatpur who goes on solving his subjects’ problems along with his wacky sidekicks; his minister and a havaldar. Seeing that women are victimized in many situations the king passes a harsh law that prohibits men from touching women. Things take a crazy turn when the king becomes pregnant after eating a fruit given by Nanga Baba. Synopsis: Nineteenth century poet and musician Honaji is renowned for popularizing the lavani dance form. Honaji’s friend Bala sings the beautiful songs written by him. Bala’s passion lies in lavani, and also in a Tamasha dancer, Yamuna Bai. Honaji falls for a beautiful dancer Gunwati who is Yamuna Bai’s daughter. Gunawati and Honaji are madly in love with each other. Yamuna Bai, however, wants Gunawati to marry Udaji Rao, a rich person from the village. Udaji Rao learns of Guanwati’s relationship with Honaji and tries deviously to eliminate Hanoji from her life. Gunwati puts up heavy resistance to Udaji Rao’s cruel intentions and a vicious struggle ensues. Will Udaji Rao succeed in his wicked plan? Will Honaji and Gunwati marry amidst their stacked odds? Synopsis: Devastated to learn that their only son has been killed by muggers in New York City, former Headmaster BB Pradhan and his wife, Parvati, grieve. With their son dead, there is no source of income for the couple, so they rent out a room, in their Shivaji Park – Bombay apartment to a budding Bollywood actress, Sujata Suman, who has been having an illicit affair with the only son – Vilas of a politician named Gajanan Chitre. Vilas lacks the guts to tell his father that he is in love and would like to marry Sujata, and hence puts off any marriage plans. They do get intimate and as a result Sujata gets pregnant. When Pradhan finds out, he offers to take Sujata to meet Gajanan with the hope that he will permit her to become his daughter-in-law. But Gajanan not only refuses, he also threatens them, he warns them of dire consequences if Sujata does not abort the child, and moves away to another town.
